Atlas Crane Service, founded in 1988 as part of a major San Diego HVAC company, began by offering quick, economical “drive‑by” lifts when no such option existed, and demand quickly grew as other contractors sought the same service. In 1993 the company separated from its parent to serve the entire HVAC industry, earning strong reception by focusing on professionalism, punctuality, customer courtesy, and deep industry knowledge. By pioneering the use of compact truck‑mounted cranes—far more efficient than large carrier cranes in tight commercial spaces—Atlas set the standard for light commercial HVAC lifting and now operates a modern fleet that meets or exceeds California clean‑air requirements, all run by trained and certified operators. Though others have tried to imitate the model, Atlas credits its success to understanding the industry it helped shape, maintaining its position as San Diego’s leading HVAC crane service, and continuing long‑standing customer relationships while welcoming new ones as “The H.V.A.C. Specialists.”
